Blue Heron Run is private primitive camping in a secluded hollow far from all distractions of modern life. There are only 3 sites with plenty of space in between. We offer 16′ diameter by 10′ tall at the peak canvas screened Bell tents with a real bed, shag rug, bedside table, and velveteen round chair. Plenty of free firewood and a private firepit with grill, shared outhouse, and solar shower shower nook. All you need to bring is a flashlight (it gets dark – lots of stars!), something to grill, and an interest in hearing the sounds of nature and sleeping like a log.
We boast several miles of hiking trails, a spring fed creek swimming hole, and are on the Serpent’s Bones Touring Routes. Only 4 miles to Albany, 10 to Athens, 7 miles from the Raccoon Creek Outfitters, and 3 from Zaleski State Park, Lake Hope is a 25 minute drive, Ash Cave in the Hocking Hills about 40 – a piece of country with access to great recreation & dining.
