Friday and Saturday –  Annual Lake Alma Halloween Campout – Beginning on Friday evening with a scary movie the campout has much to offer. On Saturday, hay rides, games, food, costume judging and ending the night with the Haunted Trail.  The food and Haunted Trail are sponsored by the Friends of Lake Alma. They request a donation to their group for the refreshments and Haunted Hike. There are no reservable campsites available but all the walk-in sites are on the first-come, first serve basis.

Saturday –  Rural Ohio Appalachia Revisited – During the day, enjoy wagon rides, crafts, fall kids games, music, food and fun. Hang around that night for a family friendly Halloween celebration at the Nature Center and Campground Office. There will be games at the Camp Office and a Haunted Hayride at dusk. The last ride out starts at 10 a.m. Donations to the Friends of Lake Hope are requested.

Saturday – Wagon Ride to the Moonville Tunnel – Join John Hutchinson on an evening horse drawn wagon ride from the Hope School through the state forest to Moonville and back.The ride will include a discussion of area history, ghost stories, a visit to the tunnel and more! Cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids. Space is limited. Call 740-698-8922 for reservations.

Wednesday (Halloween Night) –  Thriller in the Park – Enjoy a movie double feature under the stars on Halloween! Featuring the original versions of “Halloween” and “Children of the Corn.” Event starts at dusk with admission by donation. They will have free Popcorn and other concessions will be available. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. All ages welcome, but they recommend audience members be middle school or older unless accompanied by an adult. This hauntingly good time is brought to you by the Vinton County Jaycees.
