The Vinton County Chamber of Commerce hosted a Turkey Noodle Dinner and judging for our Turkey decorating contest last night. Thanks to the ladies of McArthur BPW for preparing delicious food and thanks to everyone who came out and supported our event! We ran out of most food, sold a bunch of turkeys and had a great time doing it.

The top five turkeys are on display here at the Chamber Office/Visitors’ Center along with several others. The top five money earners from our silent auction are also here and you can continue to bid on them from now through the parade on Saturday.

The People’s choice award went to our friends with the Girl Scouts. Their turkey commemorated the 100th birthday of Girl Scouts.

We also selected some turkeys that are in the running for prizes. Thanks to our sponsors Austin Powder Company, McDonalds and Wellston and McArthur and R & C Quick Stop, we have a grand total of $1,200 in prizes to give away. These finalist turkeys are on display.  They are Florist Fred by Vinton County Floral, Nasty Turkey by the Hamden Fire Department, Nature at its Best by Tina Hale of WesBanco Bank, Journalism Jake by the Vinton County Courier and Q-Tip Tommie by Trecia Kimes-Brown and Family.

We had over fifty turkeys on display last night. Here are several for your viewing pleasure!
