A Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk will take place Monday, Oct. 31 starting on West High Street in McArthur, following trick-or-treat in the village. Registration will open at 8 p.m. with the race starting at 8:30 p.m. Entry is $20 and registration before Oct. 15 will guarantee a Monster Dash t-shirt.
Participants will run and walk with glow sticks and accessories for the night run. The event is a fundraiser for improvements at the Vinton County fairgrounds. Some proceeds will also benefit the Vinton County Cross Country team. 4-H clubs and FFA are invited to participate, with a $100 prize going toward the group with the most participants.
